The tournament schedule was unusual: the first two rounds were played in March at different venues, with the full complement of players coming together in Bristol to play the remaining five rounds over the Easter weekend. Rate of play: 43 moves in 2½ hours. 17 moves per hour thereafter, except round 7, which was 34 moves in 2 hours.
