18/07/26 Tony Miles games - 984 games played by Tony Miles up to the end of 1979. The majority of the new material that hasn't been available previously consists of games played in UK weekenders. My thanks to Geoff Lawton for digitising these games and giving access to them. My own input has been to discover as many dates and round numbers as possible, and to compare and check versions of the scores. Many tournament record details have still to be added but the PGN file is largely complete to the end of 1979. Latest: Added the games R Woodford 1-0 AJM, 1970 School Match and AJM 1-0 CCW Shephard, Midland Open, March/April 1970. Many thanks to Alan Smith and Gerard Killoran for sending the scores.
16/07/26 Games of Sir George Thomas - A collection of 1,249 games (including 18 part-games & 163 stubs) played by Sir George Thomas (1881-1972) between 1896 and 1949 when he retired from competition chess. Latest: four games added in the last few weeks: (1) H S Stephens 0-1 G A Thomas, St Georges CC, prob. 1899; (2) Dr S F Smith 0-1 G A Thomas, Essex v Devon, corr 1907; (3) G A Thomas 1-0 P H J O'Connor, Kent First Class, Sevenoaks, April 1908; (4) A J Maas 0-1 G A Thomas, 1913/14 City of London Championship. Also, the score of Louisa Fagan 0-1 G A Thomas, SCCU Salisbury 1898, now has all 51 moves played (previously it had the first 28 moves).

21/06/26 London Central YMCA (Centymca) Games, 1968-76 - 181 games input from the bulletin The Centymca Story by Jimmy Adams, published in 1976, supplemented with other relevant games sourced from elsewhere. Latest: following Jimmy Adams' recent passing (R.I.P.) I have revisited the file to standardise names, fix a few errors and place the games in chronological order. EDIT (21 June): Added five more games from the Korchnoi simul vs Young England, 17 January 1976, which were published in CHESS Magazine, June 2009: (1) VK wins vs D Cummings, N Davies, J Hodgson, M Pein and R M Webb (the games vs Plasa, Short and Watson were already included).

02/06/26 Peter Griffiths File - 1,027 games played by the well-known Midlands player Peter C Griffiths, with the majority input from Griffiths' own scorebooks by Matthew Tapper. Latest: One addition and one correction, both relating to the 1975 Paignton Premier: the additional game is R Bellin ½-½ PCG (rd 7). The corrected game is PCG 0-1 J Kinlay (rd 6) - this game previously given with Griffiths black and Kinlay white but this must be wrong. Running total now 1,027 games.

04/03/26 Games of Victor Russ (1905-1985) - Victor John Anthony Russ was a strong English player from the late 1920s through to the 1980s who won the Leicestershire Championship twice, the Lancashire Championship once and also won a BCF Major Open tournament. I was pleased to be loaned a collection of his scorebooks by his son Steve Russ, to whom many thanks. The collection is not comprehensive - there are no games from Russ's pre-WW2 competitions - but the job of inputting the great majority of Russ's games from 1947 to 1984 is now complete. 687 games, plus a summary of Russ's playing career, crosstables, etc.

Widely publicised at the time, with a first prize of £60 which would be the equivalent of £6,500+ in 2025 money. Photos, biographical details, newspaper reports, etc. Latest: A further three games added, and a fourth game has had a few extra moves added to the end: (1) E Thorold draw G Field (rd 1); (2) H Worrall draw A Gooding (rd 3); (3) F Sterling Berry 1-0 H Sidney (rd 4); (4) a few more moves added to the end of E Thomas 0-1 I Eschwege (rd 6). All the additional scores come from the ChessBase Mega Database 2022. This means that the game entries now total 43 complete games, 8 part-games, 124 stubs, and 15 defaults. 21/01/25 1992 Oakham Young Masters Alexei Shirov All 234 games (one is a stub) from what was considered at the time to be the strongest 'junior' (under-22) tournament ever. It still looks very impressive today, with Shirov, Kramnik, Adams and many other contemporary GMs in the line-up. The games have long since been in the public domain but I've applied some corrections and found precise dates for the games. Full crosstable.
